Vibration while stopped in Drive

I have an intermittent vibration that only occurs while I am in drive and stopped at a red light. The vibration doesnt run the entire time of stopping it will happen for a few seconds and stop and then a few seconds later it will happen again for a few seconds. It does not happen when the truck is in Park or Netrual and there is no vibration while I am driving. Does anyone have any ideas? I have a 99 F150 XLT with 134,000 on it.

Thanks for the help!

Is your Check Engine Light Illuminated? Start with the simple stuff first. Just guessing, but maybe try cleaning your MAF sensor, and IAC valve, make sure all sensors on the engine and transmission are connected, and check for vacuum leaks by spraying starting fluid around the suspected areas with the engine running. The engine's idle will increase when you spray it on the leak. (Use caution to avoid hot engine parts, electrical componants, or open sparks while using starting fluid!)

Also, try resetting your trucks computer. Disconnect the negative battery cable, turn on your headlight switch (drains residual memory in the computer), let it sit for 15 minutes, turn off headlight switch, re-connect negative battery terminal, turn key to the "on" position, but do not start it, watch your gauges as you turn the key, they should all do a full sweep at the same time, and then go back to their original positions.

A full gauge sweep indicates that your trucks computer has been reset, and all sensors have been recalibrated. Hope that helps.

Peacemaker,

The engine light is not on. I do appreciate the advice and will check everything tonight. Hopefully it is a loose sensor or something else inexpensive. Thanks for the help!
