engine bucking 5.4 v-8

I have an F-150 2005. My problem is that it is idling very rough to the point where at times it seems to buck and almost wants to turn off. The dealer has changed to mass airflow sensor, air filter and gone through the extensive 30000-mile service. And guess what the problem continues. Dealer of course cannot recreate the problem and nothing sets off the computer when it’s hooked up to the diagnostic machine. I was told there were some other components that would not trigger the engine light that may cause this. ANYONE WITH SUGGESTIONS PLEASE LET ME KNOW IM AT MY WITS END!!!!!!!!!!

BANDITONE.... How does it drive?

Mine is in the shop right now for a similar problem. I only have 3800 miles on an 06 F150 with the 5.4. My problem is exactly as described by a member called "BeaverEater". I however have not had the dealership issues he has but my truck is in for the third time now for the same problem. Mine does not set any codes and the dealership seems to just keep changing parts that DO NOT fix my problem, which relates to "Surging/stalling under medium to hard acceleration" my truck will also start back firing at higher RPM's... If you get yours fixed please post the remedy. BoB

Hey BlueOval Breath, dose it idle rough at 2000 rpm? and when it back fires dose it do it when its cold or what? because my truck is doing the same thing, and im woundering if it will be covered under warinty. My truck isnt realy doing the stalling but it is getting very bad gas mileage. Please get back with me on that, my msn messanger is deadman345@hotmail.com, and my aim is StEvE548721. Please get back to me about that man.

OffRoadInSteve.... My truck would idle fine, but under light to heavy throttle it kinda surges/sputters. If you hold the throttle wide open say when leaving a stoplight it will shift into second gear fine but when its time to shift into third @ around 3500 rpm it starts back firing and just kinda hangs there until I let off the throttle. Then it will shift into third but with this surging/missing /jerking feeling.

I got it back from the dealer. This time they replaced a "Cracked" spark plug, two COP's on cyl # 3 and 5 and two injectors on cyl # 3 and 5. I got the truck back Monday. I have an Appt. today in Durham (about 2.5 hours oneway) I plan to put it through some test. I hope it's fixed. BoB
