Thermostat replacement 4.2 V6

Thermostat replacement 4.2 V6

I can hear the coolant boiling inside my hoses so I am under the impression my thermostat is no good. where will I find it and how hard is it to replace, any help would be greatly appreciated.

is the system presurizing. Could the system have air trapped in it. Does the heater blow heat. Head gaskets good. you clould save time and money troubleshooting. Don't assume anything. But yes it could also be the thermostat

It is definitely pressurized and the head gasket is ok as far as I can tell. just looking for where the thermostat is located on the 4.2l V6

it's under the housing on the intake manifold that the upper radiator hose connects to. make sure the brass part of thermostat is in the engine side not the radiator side, i don't think it will install backwards, and make sure you purge any air trapped in the system when you are done or the system will boil, exspecially air in the heater core

How may I ask do you purge air from the system? thanks for your help.

I thought you purged by running the engine?
