egr

Hi Guys, I just replaced the EGR Valve on MY 1999 5.4 litre F-150. I ran well for about three weeks then the service engine soon light came back on after some bucking at 45 to 50mph, first thing sunday morning.

Code again said (not getting enough intake)

Anyone with the same problem?

Truck has 104,000 on it.

Truck wants to hesitate between 45 & 50mph

Carbon build up????

Auto zone said "maybe a bad egr valve"

For future reference: Autozone is great for the free code check. When they start making suggestions on what to buy to fix your problem, run like hell. Remember, Autozone is out to sell parts, not fix cars.

That said, more than likely your DPFE sensor is faulty, and/or the ports in the throttle body are restricted. Search and ye shall receive...use "P0401" as your search criteria.

Good call, I pulled the old (metal)DPFE and the small port was restricted 75% with crud. Replaced with Genuine Ford DPFE

Trucks runs better, thanks.

Saved some money.
