Angry Spitting Spark Plugs

2001 F-150 Lightning. I loved my truck until last Friday. It spit out a spark plug in the right side while driving normally down the freeway. All stock. Never touched, and only 33,000 miles. Ford Dealer says not Fords fault. Not a design problem. O.K. then how come my Volvo with 173,000 miles is not spitting out plugs to the tune of $4000 to fix!!!!!!!!!!! Help. Please advise how to NEVER have to go through this again. I cannot afford $4000 for each of the other seven plugs. Ford needs to roger up on this one! I have been finding out this is a common problem with ALL Triton 5.4 and V-10 engines, even the unblown.

It sucks, I'm sure of that, but do a very simple search using that black bar at the top of the page, you will find VOLUMES of information on this and fixes for ~$400 if you have the time and mechanical know how. There have been so many talks of lawsuits yet I haven't seen any outcomes of this. It is a known problem, and there generally seem to have been some tell tale signs right before the final bang, i.e. engine ticking..... you'll find it in the search. Stay calm and realize that the problem can be fixed for much less than 4K...

Thanks

Thanks, I'll search. A cheaper route is always better if it works.

Timesert. That's all you need to say to your mechanic.

Will some mechanics even bother with this? I thought I read that Ford won't install TimeSerts, so you have to go hunting for some garage to do the work for you? Rather do it myself, engine is not going anywhere as it is anyway
