4.2L Performance Rebuild

I have a 2001 F150 with a 4.2L and 5 speed manual transmission. I am a contractor and like my truck alot but would like to have a bit more power and flexibility in gear choices. I am beginning to plan my rebuild and am interested in any pointers on: boring out the cylinders, balancing the crank shaft, polishing the intake and exhaust ports, California approved exhaust systems and maybe a 2 speed differential.

Thanks,

tj
