Diesel in an F150??

Hi. Someone told me Ford was or has been considering putting a Diesel motor in the F150 chassis. Has anyone heard of this? Conversely, has anyone
"shoe-horned" a powerstroke Diesel into the F150?

Navistar International did develop a V6 diesel for the F-150. Ford short of backout on them, don't know if it was over the 6.0 fiasco or what. The engine is currently being used in Cab over short haul delivery trucks and the Army was evaluating it to use as a replacement engine in the Hummers. Latest rumor is when the redesigned F-150's come out sometime around 2009, the V6 diesel may be an option. But all of this is rumors and speculation. As for anyone putting a International V8 diesel in a late model F-150. I have never seen or heard about it. Definitely not possible on the 97-03's due to engine compartment size and very unlikley on 04-Present. From a cost standpoint it would be cheaper to sell or trade your F-150 for Super Duty with a diesel.

Several 7.3L IDI's have been swapped into pre 97 trucks along with Cummins blocks too. The 7.3L PSD would present a challenge with wiring it.
