Fuel small after hard acceleration
Fuel smell after hard acceleration
I have a '02 5.4L with 52K.... after I accelerate hard I get a fuel smell in the cab... goes away after a mile or so of driving. Smell is in the cab, AC on.
I can't seem to see anything in the engine compartment around any of the injectors - but I may not be looking close enough.
I plan on staying off the gas.... I don't want the thing to burn! Ideas?

fuel smell
check under the drivers side door, slide under truck at this point and look for fuel filter on inside of frame.trace line to engine and to tank for leaks. When you put demand on fuel delivery system and let off, pressure could stack up on you and cause a leak because of pressure spike before it returns to normal delivery rate and pressure, even new rubber hoses can leak with a little extra pressure.
