A/C Problem

My A/c hasnt been working in my 98 F150, So I decided to check the pressure.

I only checked the low side port (on the receiver) and it read VERY high, it was in the "Alert" range of the gauge. The engine was running, 4.6. The gauge read somewhere around 120 psi.

What is wrong with my truck? What do I need to fix it?

Thanks
Mike

if you have pressure on the low side, you need to figure out why the cluth coil is not getting power or ground. could be a bad control panel, bad switch in the lines, bad clutch.
Post in HVAC section, more help there

Is the compressor kicking in? While running with A/C on check to see if clutch is engaged. Sometimes mine sticks and I just tap it with something and it will engage. You may have the same problem.

If the compressor isn't running, depending on ambient temps, 120 psi on the low side is about right.
