I believe the manual calls for 10w30.

I have found the FORD synthetic blend (and dino oil) to be very good.

On the other hand, I use Mobile 1 full synthetic.

Everyone has an "oil preference", so you are bound to hear many differing views.

Find an oil that you are comfortable with and change it regularly.

If you don't have an owners manual, you can download one in PDF format from the owners section of www.motorcraftservice.com.
It has all that kind of info in there.

Indeed, the factory manual calls for 5W30 in general, but 10W30 is OK in certain temperature ranges as well. Ford further confused the matter by back-rating nearly all their engines (with very few exceptions) back to the late 70s and early 80s, approving their Motorcraft semi-synthetic 5W-20 for all of them.

Confused yet? As was already mentioned, find one you like, and change it regularly. With regular oil and filter changes, there's no reason it won't live 300,000 miles.
