Replace Idle Air Control Motor?

I had my 99 4.6 in for new spark plugs and a transmission flush at a local shop a couple days ago, and the mechanic asked me if I'd noticed any problems idling. I said no, I had actually sat in idle for 20 minutes the day before while they cleared wreck on the freeway. We walked out into the shop, and as we walked up to my idling truck, it died. The mechanic told me he thought the idle air control motor was going out. It's never done that before, and it's been fine for the past two days, but I'm wondering if I should just replace it anyway. He told me it was easy and I could do it at home a lot cheaper, so I don't think he lying. Should I just replace it anyway, since the truck is 7 years old? Also, is that the same as the idle air control valve?

Thanks

Clean it first

Cleaning is almost free and will probably cure the idle problem. There are several posts here on how to do that.
