Can any of you tell me if the oil pressure sensor on my 06 F-150 with a 5.4 is telling me my oil pressure before or after the oil goes through the oil filter? The reason I'm asking is because I just installed an Amsoil Dual By-Pass set up and even though everything is ok including the pressure, I'd like to know if the guage is telling me the actual pressure going into the engine or is it telling me the pressure before the oil goes through the filter. Thanks

 

The oil pressure sensor doesn't really tell you much in these trucks. It is just an "idiot light" and should not be trusted other than saying that there is pressure somewhere in the system.

I don't know where the sensor is located, maybe a more knowledgeable person will chime in with this information.
