cams

are there any cams that help gas mileage...and if not what cams can you get that dont affect the gas mileage much?? (but with some decent gains in horsepower and/or torque0

OK I just went through when i rebuilt the white trash and my best friend is a cam grinder here in Memphis so I think I can help. Its my understanding that if you change cams to a longer duration you will not get the full benefit unless your computer is reprogrammed to spray more fuel. More fuel = higher performance= less mileage.

im not sure i understand?? ur sayin the cam is useless if the computer isnt told to give more gas??? and if i do reporgram the computer...i will get worse gas mileage??

Thats the long and the short of it. If I was you I would talk to a reputable cam grinder Like Lazer here in Memphis There on the web and weigh all the options before buying. All ways a good idea anyways.
