Fuel Pump Question?

Ive got a 95 F-150 with dual fuel tanks. I ran out of gas the other day, and now the front tank won’t work. Runs just fine if I use the rear tank. Also, Ive noticed some overflow out of the front tank.

Did I burn up the fuel pump when she ran dry?

The tanks have bypass valves on them to keep one tank from slowly filling up by the other one. When you said the front is overflowing is that what you ment. Also each tank has its own pump and switches so any number of things could go wrong.
