hey just curious i forgot if the triton 5.4 is an interferance engine (valves hit the pistons if the chair breaks) if so is there a time i should start thinking of replacing the timing chain???

when the timing chains start to wear on the 5.4L u will hear the slack rattling on the front timing chain cover.. usually around 100,000+ miles they will start to rattle.
Chains are not prone to breaking like belts are. Plus the engines have tensioners on the chains to compensate for some stretch. If they get to the point of making noise, then you definitely want to change them.

haha ur lucky than. but also if u keep up with the matinance like u should the timing chains wont really overheat and stretch
ok thanks guys thats what i wanted to know. i just have the infomous ticking haha for about a min after start up so i aint too worried that the engine is in need of anything but routine stuff. love the truck!
