1. I have 86 f150 w/302EFI, auto, 2wd. Surging. backfiring thur the intake, after the truck has reached operating temp. It doesn't do it during highway driving. But if im in stop and go driving, it stalls, stumble and cut off. And it will not start. But after letting it sit for about an hour it will start up with no problem. Also, I noticed that when I "stand" on the pedel, the transmission should downshift to 1st. But it doesn't. Now, I have replaced dist cap, rotor, fuel filter, plugs and wires. Checked timing, 10 degrees, on the money. When I replaced the plugs I noticed that some of my plugs were "wet". Now, could I have some leaking fuel injectors? This leads to my second question.
2. Can I use injectors from a late model 302. i will hitting the local junkyard and taking some pictures to make sure they are the right ones. The local dealership wants $160 each.
Now I will try some SeaFoam treatment before replacing the fuel injectors. So I need some comments before going to next step.
