Question Power Steering

1998 Ford F-150 XLT, 4.6L, 2WD.

I have this loud whine while turning the steering wheel. It only occurs on sharp, slow turns. It almost sounds like when you are taking the last bit of soda from a cup with a straw... a lot of air mixed with the soda.
I've already replaced the fluid and it was good for one day, then it came right back. It steers fine, but the noise is very loud. Is my pump going bad?
Thanks!

Nope, I have yet to have a ford PS pump that doesn't make a noise like that. Even the diesel did it new, just hard to hear over the 7.3L. Soda straw/wining/hissing type sounds abound. I just use a suction gun at every oil change to empty the pump and that gets about 1/3 of the fluid changed. Fresh Mercon does seem to help.
