No Power to Air Conditioner Clutch
Clutch
I removed spacer behind bolt now the front plate just spins all the time with motor running so maybe I just locked the two up but didn't solve any problems, won't disengage or engage like it's supposed too, won't free spin by hand anymore either, ford expedition 2002 any help please
You need to set the gap PROPERLY, not just remove shims. Correct gap is somewhere between .015 and .040 inch, off the top of my head. If there's ZERO gap, the clutch will not disengage. If the gap is too great, the clutch either will be intermittent or won't engage at all.
You can pick up a kit of shims (and more) at AutoZone for about $2.
