Question 5.4L swap into a 98 f150 with a 4.6 questions

ok i have a 4.6L in my truck now, and i found a 2004 3 Valve 5.4L Triton under 1,000 miles. what would i need to do to swap it into my 98 f150? will a 2003 motor even fit in my 98?

For the 3valve engine you would need the computer, entire wireing harness from the 2004 truck, and an in depth knowledge of the wiring of both vehicles to make it all work. you can use a 2003 5.4L just fine, you can even use your existing harness and computer. You would just need a chip or a tuner to make it run right.

I agree the wiring is a big pain. All you need 2 do is get a custom computer tune 4 the swap. The tune will help u out alot more then just getting a computer.

micahman,

Don't take this the wrong way, it may be cheaper/less of a head ache to look for a newer truck with the 5.4L Triton already in it. Just a thought.
