check engine light

Another question With my Airaid intake on I get the check engine light. Well the code reader is saying its an o2 sensor---air\fuel lean banks 1 & 2,,,, Will the Superchips XCalibrator 2 from TROYER cure this too lean problem???

P.S I have reset the computer and on the 2nd key cycle the light comes back,,and the same for the code reader..and the truck runs great..

You either have a vacuum leak post MAF or the mod is otherwise screwing up the MAF's air readings.

I dont think there is any leaks, cuz I can switch back to the stock intake and all is fine, put the airaid on,,the light comes back on. Yesterday I wrote an email to Airaid telling them the promlem in detail, So I,ll keep you guys informed on what Airaid has to say about the problem..

I agree, it sounds like a vacuum leak. I would look all over the intake for any small pin holes. Yes, let us know what you find out.

Yes you guys were right it was a vacuum leak... The vacuum line is cliped to some other lines and it causes the vacuum nipple on the Airaid to kick sideways ever so slightly to creat a leak.. I uncliped it and let it float by itself and its fine now NO MORE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THANKS projectSHO89,ChrisLuce,and Airaid!!!!

Yeah so you can throw some more cel's. Get a tuner and it'll compensate for the lean condition you're creating with the new intake.

I know I'm going to get a tuner,,, But it is funny how I'm the only one having this problem not everyone who bought an intake bought an tuner!!! They are'nt throwing sensors....My friend is'nt throwing sensors he's got same everything as me....And I changed my mind I'm buying a Volant,,,Airaid already told me to send it back for a full refund...

P.S...It's a first gen Airaid,,,Maybe that has something to do with it I have an Airaid Rep working with me.

There are lots of people on here that have thrown cel's with lots of different intakes. 04's were the worst about it due to the very sensitive fuel settings. When I was looking at intakes I searched and found out the intakes that threw codes. Give it a try in 04-06 and intake-exhaust forums.

Cool

Yes now I know,,, I got my intake the first month Airaid had it out for the 04,,I have had it on and off but I think the 2nd gen ones ( other companys ) Will not throw the sensor as easily. Thats what I understand from that Forum.... I need a tuner anyway,,, But since I have the chance to get a different one,,( now that more are on the market ) And if my new one throws a sensor I'll have to order the tuner sooner than later....

WHICH ONE DO YOU HAVE???? AND WHAT TUNER DID YOU USE?????

I have a k/n drop in. I am getting an aem brute force dry filter intake. Don't have a tuner and don't know which one I want yet, but I like edge and troyer's xcal2 both for obvious reasons.

I like dry filters, even though I have the k/n, because they don't need oil and there will never be problems with over/under oiling. JMHO.
