Need Help!
Well, here is what I've got! I have a 2002 f-150 Supercrew with 110,000 miles and no problems whatsoever. Now I am having a problem I can't seem to figure out. Here it goes! My rpm's jump up a few hundred when I come to a stop or put my truck in Park. It also stays at the same RPM when I take my foot off of the accelerator. I.E. When I take my foot off of the accelerator at 50 mph it stays at 50 mph for several miles, almost like it is on cruise control? The strangest thing I have noticed is that when I accelerate hard, my RPM's go all the way to 5000 RPM and my Battery light comes on until it changes gears and then when it reaches 5000 RPM it comes on again until it changes gears again? I have never had a check engine light or trouble codes. I took it to the dealer and they told me it was the MAF sensor and the Throttle Intake Control Valve. Both of those items have been replaced and it is no better! I have also had the fuel filter changed, plugs checked, and the alternator checked. All are in perfect working order. I am at a loss as to what to do next. Any advice or if anyone has encountered this problem, I would love to hear it! Thank you for your help!
