Thumbs up A BIG "Thank You" to all......

If it wasn't for all the great members of f150online I don't know how I would have found the problem with my truck.
For about a year now my F-250 has been running poorly. Cylinders dropping out as I drove, then finally dropping two cylinders completely.
I tried all the usual tricks but nothing worked. I gave in and paid big bucks to have the plugs changed and the fuel injection system flushed with a new fuel filter too. Ran fine for about half an hour then dropped two cylinders again.
I had been reading and searching through the various posts about similar problems. I thought the coils on my 5.4 engine had gone bad so I found a new set on E-Bay. Installed them and HOORAY!! no more dead cylinders.
But it still ran rough.
Researched some more and found the EGR Pressure Sensor may be the cause. Sure enough, I replaced it last weekend and it smoothed right out.
In the process of replacing it I also found a burned through vacuum line. It contacted part of the EGR valve or plumbing. This line, white in color, is attached to a device mounted on the firewall just above the brake booster and goes to someplace near the EGR valve. Hit PepBoys for parts and fixed it in the parking lot. The truck has been running great ever since.
I still have one little problem though. If I bring the RPMs up to 1500 and hold it there while in neutral the engine surges badly. In gear and driving there's no problem. I'll replace the TPS sensor this weekend and see if that's the problem.

Once again thanks to all who have or had the same problem as I. There is a wealth of knowledge here. All a person has to do is search.
As I've always said "The internet is a wonderful thing".
