Wow, that's good news.

Will you post-up when everything is completed?

I wanted to put an enire Lightning engine in my 97 Expedition, and two guys I spoke to who did the swap said that chaning over to a new wiring harness/ECU was the hardest part of the swap. Danny Swanson (Swanson Performance, well known in the fast Ford community) also told me that I need a new wiring harness...?

I hate electrical work. If they were mistaken...then I'm stoked.

Sure thing. If you are going lightning, yes, a different harness is used because of all the coils and the other sending units may not be in the same location on the motor. Like JMC said, you have to use the later pi manifold if you use pi heads. search this site and you will find all the stuff i found that put me on to a 5.4 swap. not that 4.6 are all bad, but mine might be making 100 HP to the wheels . Raced my wife in her 04 honda minivan and she d me bad! i had to put it in 4lo and gun it if i wanted to beat her across the intersection, but after that she was gone!
It also gets twice the mileage i get
Also, you can put a supercharger on your motor cheaper than swapping to a lightning setup

I've got a 5.4 so the COPs aren't an issue - I already have 'em. Sounds like I may have gotten accurate advice about the Lightning motor, then.

I've already got a Procharger also. When this motor goes, I want to weight all of my options. Either built long block, port my NPI heads and run my Procharger faster for more boost (or put a D1 on it)...or a Lightning motor with a twin-screw on it (if this is an option at all).

Just got back from driving her around, man she's running well right now despite the heat.
Hopefully I won't have to make this decision for a long time
