5.4 engine has a knock would like to know if i can take main and rod caps off and change bearings without taking the crank out as i have done this on my 89 302 gt.any reply will help thanks..

 

I can't see why not, it may be tighter, but not out of the question. I would be scepticle though, seeing how each cap is slightly different in size. When we assemble them, it could be one of 3 sizes, a 2 or the middle being ideal. I don't know how big a difference it would make. But ya, you should be able to at least remove and reinstall them fine.
