Plugs are located right next to the injectors. They have COPs on top of them(Coil On Plug)

Yes...patience. Other than that, basic hand tools will do it.

5/8 socket, u can find one with the sticky stuff in the inside at an auto parts shop that will make it alot easier to pull them out after you unscrew it.

the easiest way is to remove both fuel rails, the egr tube and power steering reservoir.i've got it down to about an hour for all 8,with a smoke break in the middle.just take your time and be patient and it's not that bad.its also good to have an air compressor to blow anything out of the heads so you don't drop a bunch of crap in the engine.

I noticed yesturday that the motor was studering a little bit when you 1st hit the gas and then it seem like it was missing at abiut 45 to 50 MPH then levels off once get to about 60 MPH, you think new plugs will fix this or is there some other things that could cause this.
The service light did come on but then the next time i drove it was not on.
Opinions??

Go have the codes scanned BEFORE you disconnect the battery. WRITE DOWN THE CODES.

If you don't, you won't know why the SES was on.

Plugs alone may not fix it. Often, misfires are due to one or more of the COPs breaking down under load. If you don't know which one before you start, you'll waste a lot of time. If it happens to point to a misfire in one of the difficult to reach COPs, swap that one to a front cylinder so that, if it does cause problems with the new plugs also, it's easy to replace.

Pick up a BIG tube of dielectric grease. Use plenty in each coil boot when re-assembling.

@ Garlo..

I have the exact same problem with my 2001 F-150 4x4. The truck kinda hesitates and jerks at around 45-50 mph until it hits 60mph. My "service engine light " came on too. I took it to Autozone for a free diagnosic reading
and it read that my cylinder 6 was missfiring. Was advised to get a tune up to take care of it.. Let me tell ya though. I'm not sure where your from bout out here in Michigan "Firestone auto care center" said they dont have the expierience to do the tune up. I called a local service shop and they wanted atleast $280 just for the labor.. 4 hr job. not including parts.. Me and my neighbor are gonna do the tune up ourselfves. He's good at working on vehicles..
