big puddles equal problems!

it rained alot here yesterday in NY, so of course roads were flooded and i had to drive down them. now the truck has brake problems as well as this consistent sqeak that is coming from the engine. i'm thinking its one of the pulley's the serpentine belt runs along, thats where the sound is heard the best. is there any spray or grease i can put on the pulleys to make the squeak go away? i think its probably just because water got in there, and now its all dried up. any ideas or suggestions?!
thanks everybody -

John

When was the last time you changed your fan belt?

I know of several ways to get rid of a belt squeak, but you would be better off replacing the belt (if it is not new).

hey saint -

is the serpintine belt the same as a fan belt. I just had the serp. belt replaced with the gatorback belts that troyer sells. it was done probably 2 months ago. i was just talking to a friend of mine down teh street and he said just add a little belt spray that is sold at autozone, and see if that makes it go away. otherwise i'll look into the fan belt.

is the fan belt an expensive fix?
thanks for your help!
John

Yes the serpatine belt is your fan belt you could try the spray but every time the belt gets wet you will probably have the squeak sound.
