Emissions on 81 model

Just curious if anyone has had to or tried to replace the emissions parts on pre fuel injected trucks yet? I have a 81 with the 300 6cyl and several years ago the pump locked up. The plastic lines were dry rotted and cracking and fell apart basically. Ford has stopped making these parts as I am told by a local for dealer. Just wondering if anyone has some info.
Truck runs good without all this but I only get like 8-10 mpg. Considering replacing this stuff if it will get me a couple or so mpg.

Howdy, didn't see your post up here, you would have had better luck down in the pre 97 section. (too many EFI guys up here...)

Smog equipment isn't going to make a real change in your milage, (in fact some, not mentioning names, ditch it. heh heh).

What are the specs on the truck so we can try to help with the milage?

Thanks for the reply. I have posted in Pre 97 also but had nothing there last time I checked. I will look again today.
The specs..
300 6cyl, 2 bbl carb. Its the 4 sp (low gearing), 4x4, 30x9.50-15 tires on stock wheels. I have a K&N airfilter in it is the only addition to its stock condition.
I am aware the truck is geared a little low but my grandfather bought this truck new and my dad says it use to get decent gas milage. That was back in the day when gas was affordable, so perhaps its more perception than fact.
It runs fine, I just was wondering if adding this stuff back on would make a difference in mpg.
Any suggestions on increasing gas milage is appreciated.
