Man, this is just a shot in the dark, but I recently had a BAD vacuum leak on my truck. (little noisy) It was the rubber boot that connects to the intake, on the pcv valve hose. I've seen them rot off on every Ford I know. (V10's too)

That hose connection in back? Man, I've still got the whistle, constant at 1500-2100 rpm's and kinda hoped that was not the case, probably a bitch to replace. I'm checking mine in the morning.

for me it was the plastic hose that broke inside of that foam where the pcv vale attaches. for a while i just wraped eletrical tape around it until i got the right piece to replace it.

How much are the tubes? If it's cheap enough, I thaught about trying it, eliminating that as a source.

Maybe $20-$25? I can't remember. Easy fix. Took 30 seconds.

How hard was it to remove? Like I say, I've assembled these and new they require a soapy solution to make it easier to push on. Now, almost 7 years later????? I would imagine the IAC has to come off, right? I looked at mine and it seems fine, but again, if it's cheap enough to find out I'll do it.

It was under $30 for the whole assembly. I told them not to charge me for a new pcv valve (that came with it). That knocked a couple of bucks off the price..

It was easy as crap. The hose broke off the back side of the intake, and I couldn't pull it off with my fingers. So I poked it with my letherman, and pushed it off. The new one went on super easy. I did it after a 30 minute ride, and the engine was HOT. Just remember how the pcv hose was routed, and return it to its original position. If you route it wrong, hoses will rub and it could rub a hole in your heater hose.

Don't let them sell you a pcv valve. Every dealership I've ever been to tried to do it.

Got it coming for tomorrow, we'll see what she does. It sounded like he ordered the tube and not the PCV as well, even so it's only 4 bucks extra, if it fixes the problem, it's money well spent. I would have never given it a second thaught, so thanks for pointing me in the right direction fellas.
