Need some help
My 01 F150 (4.6L 2WD 106,000 miles) is giving me some trouble. When warm or cold, upon accelerating, my truck surges/shakes/stumbles and cuts out. The intake actually backfired this morning. Only occurs under moderate to heavy acceleration, but that's just about what I have to do to get this thing to move. It just doesn't seem to won't to go. Its driving me crazy. Service Engine Soon light is not on. Under hard acceleration, I can hear a pinging noise, kind of a gurgle that sounds like its coming from under my feet. I changed the plugs and one COP about 5k ago. The fuel filter was changed 10k ago. I use 87 octane gas. I recently Sea Foamed it to see if that would help. It didn't. Where should I start? Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

im kinda new to these for tritons but it sounds like the intake manifold gasket or around the plentum gaskets are either broke or somehow its sucking air or something. or you have a sensor going out on you, but if it was a sensor the check engine light should come on.
right now im doing a head gasket job on my truck which has a 4.6 and i was told that that has know to happen (what i stated above) by a ford dealer garage.

I wonder if I was to start the motor, and while it idles, I could spray some "sensor-safe throttle body cleaner" around the base of the manifold to see if the idle is affected. This would tell me if I have a leak, right?
