Question 250k and second set

hey guys I have a 97 250 light with 250+ and recently had moisture in the plug well on #6.I bought a new cop for it and removed plug.Thats when the sand and water was found and the plugs needed changing.I drove with the old plugs for a month fearing this venture into swivell extension hell.Autolites plats were used and 2 at a time were changed and started to check for misses. After #7/8 were changed thats when the slight miss appeared. The plugs and cop were all metered and all are the same. The one thing I didnt do was dielectric the boots nor remove the rails.Has anyone ever found out the plug boots were not locking on the plug and might not be aligned with the silly spring inside? With the rails still on its a b-itch and half to see in there.
I really think its something minor buts its a major pain in the -ss and fingers.
I havent driven the truck only idol and back it out of the garage.

Just because a coil checks okay resistance wise does not mean it's good. Resistance is probably the worst way of checking a coil, since there really isn't much demand placed on the ignition system at idle. The ignition system is worked hardest under load - which is how coils should be tested, but this takes some special equipment.

At 250K miles, if the suspect cylinder(s)' coil(s) haven't been replaced, it's probably about due for 'em.

This problem is a little strange in that the truck ran pretty good before.Quinton have you heard of alignment problems with the rail still on?
I dont have a problem with changing all cops but I might have caused the problem while cussing and jamming the cop on.

Nah, if the coil wasn't sitting right on the plug, you'd know it when you went to stick the coil into it's well.

It sounds like a fairly snug hole for the boot to fit in.The first-time I pulled the plugs on this venture I didnt remove the bat during the changeout. When it didnt run right I ran a odb test it read Plug primary and secondary H error.
The answer from the X-purts at A-Zone says it was the computer needed
resetting.I cleared the code with the odb reader and then removed the bat power.Still no engine light or a good running engine.
The last time the cop went out I had to drive it 15 miles before the service light popped on.
For Sale cold AC/Low Mileage??
I need a down payment on a Neon.
