i just took my 02 s-crew down to the ford dealership and was told that the engine ticking noise was normal for these trucks. it only does it when i'm cruising on the interstate or get on the throttle. its got a little over 45000 on it, and i just bought it a week ago. came with a dealer 3 month, 3000 mile warranty. should i get a second opinion or has anyone else heard of this. any help would be appreciated.

 

If it concerns you, then get it checked out.

It could be a loose plug (I hope not), a simple exhaust leak or any number of 'little' things. Even if it is nothing serious, any doubt adds stress and that is not good.
