An E-fan is a fan the blows air across the radiator, increasing the heat exchange process ( cooling the coolant). It increases efficiancy by running off of the battery and altenator, unlike a conventional fan which uses a belt and pulley from the motor to turn it. A conventional fan is known as a parasitic loss, which means that it robs power from the engine. Does this answer your question?
