Water temp sensor

Water temp sensor

I want to put in a aftermarket water temp gage but where is a good spot on putting the temp sensor ? its on a 98 5.4 motor any suggestions ?

I put mine on the inlet side of the heater core hose. I used a brass tee and additional hose attaching hardware from Home Depot. I think it was the 5/8" size?? Since I used electric gauges, I needed to run an extra ground wire from the tee to the chassis.

Works great and has been setup this way for about 4 years now. I also have a trans temp gauge setup in a similar manner on the output line, just before it goes into the rad... Tells me everything I need to know how hard the engine is working.... Especially when towing my trailer.
