I was at Wal-mart going to buy an air filter and saw that there are mulitple kinds. I was wondering what yall think the best air filter is? What holds dirt out the best but gives the less air restrection. I was thinking the Fram tough guard (reg air filter with a little oil on it). Thanks!

P.S. I know fram's filters are the worst but the tough guard sounds pretty good.

 

If you want a filter that catches the most dirt, then stick with the motorcraft. I've used K&N, Napa, Fram, and Motorcraft. The Motorcraft filters are the best at catching dirt. They have a very thin coating of oil or something, and they work great. I couldn't care less about how good it flows, but it is what the truck was made for, so I figure it flows good enough.

 

Definetly drop the $50 for the K&N. You get a lifetime warranty (if it gets dirty clean with a hose, like new again) and in increase in HP as well as fuel economy. In my opinion its a no brainer.

 

It may be a no brainer for somebody that drives on pavement all the time, but if you're gonna be on a dirt road, you don't want a K&N unless you have an extra IAC laying around....

And I didn't see any mileage gains.

 

well went today and bought a new air filter, did a tb cleaning, and seafoam treatment. I noticed the new motorcraft filter had a blue like tent to it. Must be some type of oil.

P.S. Srry for being off topic but what is a cop and what does it look like. I was going to wash my engine but now I am scard because if this. Mabey I will just cover it with paper bags.

 

coil over plugs, instead of spark plug wires and one or 2 coils a cop has a coil back on each spark plug, this takes care of the spark plug wires. if it gets wet say hello to misfire heaven

A "cop" is one of thos eguys(or gals) that pull u over when ur doin 90 on a 55 or passin red lights and they ask all these questions and then they make u sign a little paper sayin u owe the city money?!?
