Engine Vibration at 60mph +
Engine Vibration at 60mph +
Hello,
I own a 1999 F-150 with 116k miles on it. I have the 4.6L with the 5speed manual transmission.
Lately I have noticed that the engine is considerably louder at 60mph plus speeds. The very moment I back off the accelerator, the engine noise disappears.
Also, when I'm in first gear, I can hear a click (or multiple clicks) near the transmission. Could this be a worn U-joint & perhaps related to the loud engine noise?
Thanks,
Dave

Sounds like U joints, get your vise and hammer out.
