Loss of power
Loss of power
I have a 2004 F150 w/5.4 with 43000 on it. The other day going down the highway the engine started to appear to be starving for fuel absolutely no power and the engine light never came on. Next two days was fine on the thrd day same thing this time the light came on. Brought to my friends garage and the following codes came up p0171,p0174,and p1237. My friend suggested bringing back to the dealer as he didn't want to start just changing parts. Any help is appreciated it goes to the dealer on tuesday. Thanks
Yes it is probably starving for fuel. If your friends scan tool can monitor basic data look at frp, fuel rail pressure and see if it drops below 40 psi on accell. I have replaced a few of these pumps on 04 and 05 trucks
Below is a link to the code list.

Looks like a 'fuel pump secondary circuit malfunction' causing leaness.
