2002 Ford F150 - Rough idling - PO302

Hey guys...

I have a 2002 Ford F150 4.6 8cylinder engine, and am having some problems. ***This engine has an coil on every cylinder*** I'm getting a PO302 code when pulled (cylinder 2 misfires detected). I have a couple of questions and they are:

Question 1:
I've called Autozone, and they pulled the cylinder numbering order, but they can for sure tell me what the cylinder numbering is. So, if I were standing at the front of the truck, looking at the engine, with the Drivers side to my right, and passenger to the left... what is the cylinder order.

Question 2:
I read some of the posts on the PO302, and they gave some ideas as to what causes this, but what things actually cause this error code? I've swapped out the coils and plugs on the 2 middle cylinders on the drivers side, hoping that one of those were the Cylinder 2.

Thanks guys,

From: Georgia on my mind...
On the passenger's side, front to back is cylinders 1-4, driver's side front to back is 5-8.

Well, just changed the coil in the #2 cylinder as described above... and it now works. Man... those Autozone guys!

Thanks for the help... great weekend.

Get a Haynes manual for your truck. Best $15 or so you will spend. lots of info and how-to in it.
