Speedometer problem

Sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum....wasn't sure where would be best.

My speedo works great up to 45 mph. Anything over and it stays at 45. Granted, it is probably a great excuse when I see red and blue in my rear view....but I'd rather avoid that entire scenario.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

either the needle is sticking on something or the sensor is bad on the rear wheel for ABS or the transmission speak sensor. does it ever fluctuate?

Best guess.... VSS - vehicle speed sensor, likely on L/H side of transmission at rear, they will bugger up now and then.
