A/c Help!!!!
Yo, umm well pretty much my A/C was working last summer and when i went to go fire it up on this 95* day and nothin but hot air. I checked the fuse for the clutch coil and it was fine. Any suggestions???
well when i look at the condenser it never kicks in. like the clutch never engages. I can try what you guys suggested but i dont think thats the problem...Please list some more suggestions...thanks
put the control in defrost and see if the clutch engages. if not the the pressure switch could be bad, the R134a leaked out or you have a wiring problem.
oh, and if the heater temp control **** doesn't turn to cold the ac will not cycle and so the clutch wont engage. by putting it in defrost the ac will cycle (it removes the moisture from the air)
most common reason seems to be the cracked ****.

you know that very well could be the problem because i bought some of that R134A boost and that didnt seen to work but i couldnt really tell because the gauge was broken on it. but today i went to go turn the A/C on just for kicks and i saw the RPMs raise a little and within about a minute it was kicking out ice cold air but then i shut it off because i didnt need it and then when i tried to do it again later that day it just blew out warm air. I will check that **** and ill get back to you.....Thanks.
ok. today i took off the control ***** and they were fine, and i took a pair of needle nose and manually turned the shaft inside and turned it to A/C and cold but still no dice. Is there a sensor or something that should tell the compressor to engage? The only thing i dont get is when i switch it over to A/C i can see my rpms rise, but if i look under my truck you can see that the clutch is not spinning.

jumper the low side switch with AC on high. that should tell the system to engage the clutch. if the compressor spins and you have warm air grab the lines going into the fire wall, one should be very cold and the other warm, if not most likely you have a leak in the system and the refridgerant leaked out, but could be a restiction in the system or weak compressor, easy to start to find with a gauge set. If the clutch doesn't engage, need to use a wiring diagram and trace where the power and ground end in the whole system
