P1405 engine code

Recently, my service engine light came on. 1997 F150 70,000 miles on it. The engine light came on. First chance i had, went to Autozone, put it on the engine code thing.

(2) codes were present

(1) P1405 auxilary emissions or something like that.
(2) P1405 auxilary emissions..

So, the guy told me i need to go to the dealer for that. I called the dealer, and he said it was some upstream hose unplugged, or off.

Can someone tell me what i need to look for? cracked hose? or something. So i can get it fixed. where should i look for this particular sensor, or sensors?

Thanks for all your help

Check the two small hoses to the DPFE sensor. One might be damaged, clogged, or loose.

If they are in good condition and properly secured, the DPFE sensor MAY be faulty. Additional tests should be done to confirm preclude being just a parts swapper.

Aux emmisions is hardware 'off' the engine like fuel tank related parts and hoses that are tested for emmisions by the PCM.

My previous post is correct.

Please consult the PCED.

Your right. I accepted his code discription at face value that was wrong.
Aux is still off the engine directly if the right code for it..
