Question Tune up?

Hey guys, I was wondering what exactly is all involved when a tune up is done. What I am trying to figure out is if it is something that I can do or not. My problem is with my gf 01 Camaro, I know its not a Ford but was hoping for some help from you guys. It is pushing to have 80k miles on it and its starting to run a little rough, I was hoping a tune up may help. I tried to search and poked around on some camaro forum sights but couldn't find anything that was regarding to her V6. Thanks for any info.

It should have coil pack ignition with no other adjustments. I'd just put plugs and wires on it; and you're gonna have fun tuning that one up, I hate F-Bodies.

She said it was going to be bad, she got a quote before we met for a tune up and they quoted $500 to do it, thats why I was wondering if I could do it and save some money. I am currently away on business and won't know until I get home which will be in a couple weeks.

Around 80,000 is when the factory plugs and wires start to go on those cars, It's not a fun job as mentioned. The majority of the plugs have to be done by feel from under the car and you'll end up looking like you had a wild night with a wolf.
