I have an 01 F150 Supercrew 4x4 with 111,000 miles on it. I bought it with 98,000 miles on it and have not done anything to it as of yet. It has developed a skip under hard acceleration, it is a definate miss/hesitation. It runs fine at normal driving, just under hard GO that is misses. A friend told me that all that could be done for a tune up on these are plugs and a fuel filter. Is this right? Please give me more ideas and advice.

 

Plugs wires and fuel filter would be a good start.
