Firing order

I have a 98 4.2l V6. I've been having misfires. A diagnostic said I had misfires in 1 and 3, or 1, 2 and3. Can't remember. I looked at the plug wires. They say 1,2,3 on the passenger side of the enigne. And 4,5,6 on the other. I thought that odds were on one side and evens on the other. Does anyone know which ones are which? Or where I can find out? Thanks

Front pass side is usually plug #1, and then count towards the back, continue on the driver's side on Fords ( V-8 is 1-4 and 5-8 ).

Firing order if I am not mistaken is 1-4-2-5-3-6. At least something is telling me that, if you want to confirm take a look for one of JMC's posts on the topic.
