OBD Codes- what they are, what they mean
Here is the linky for you folks that have questions in regards to codes that are coming up with your engines/transmissions/etc. For some of the codes, you will have to click on the "generic OBD-II codes" link. If you know the code that is giving you a problem- here's the explanation. Those that are highlighted in blue have more information if you click on them.

Left hand side-> Non-Subscription Resources-> OBDII Theory & Operation.
These are PDFs that go through the operation with diagrams, and give DTCs at the end with what they are for the section that was just described.
Just an example I looked at to verify :
Front HO2S Signal
Talks about the function of the HO2S for startup and closed loop operation, for the time betwen switches, what the DTCs are for the HO2S the parameters that have to occur before the testsing happens ( engine load, min run time, etc )
With the PDF for the MY truck being worked on, a search can be done for something like P0401, and it gives the voltage levels, the VAC pressure, etc along with the description info, and the drive cycle conditions.
not quite the factory service manual, but for free from Ford, you can't ask for a whole lot more.
