3 valve cylinder heads

Anyone have any experience with these yet? I'd like to know what interchanges, specifically on the intake manifolks. Will an intake manifold from a standard 2 valve engine bolt on the 3 valve engine?

I know, wishful thinking, but I'm interested in the design.

Almost positive but the only similarity is the block. Everything above the short block is different, except the oil filter.

Thanks for the inputs guys. I took some time to hunt down what I could on the internet also about the design.

It is considerably different. Probably more compact and easier to work on than the 2V lightning engine, from what I can tell. The new valve timing mechanism is similar to the one that Nissan had installed on their '89 300z engines so I'm already familiar with it (glad to see Ford is utilizing this approach).

I still have my original heads on my Lightning with the problematic spark plug threads. I'm ok so far, but I do what to change out the heads here sometime. This 3v design looks like it would be quite a challenge to install on my L.

I finally ran into a site talking about 2v to 3v conversions and it didn't sound pretty. Quite a bit of change around needed. I think it would be best for me to just update the 2v heads with a better set of 2v heads and leave it at that.
