jbrews Misfire - resolved!!!

I thought I tried ever-thing to resolve my multiple cylinder misfires and had no luck. I actually started a thread questioning the boot on a new OEM coil pac. Why is the spring inside different than the OEM - I never got an answers from anyone - it got real quiet all the sudden lol. Maybe know one knows. I put all the very old OEM boots (8) and there special copper/brass inserts that you can't purchase anywhere (with the exception of a few salvage yards) , back on the coils and what a difference - like night and day.. music to my ears. Sounds very healthy now.

Well ya just popped my bubble temp1, so is that an OEM spring ? My trucks running good - don't jinx me !! lol. Ok, so maybe I hoping that over-positive thinking will wisk my misfires away. For the last couple of days it has been running well, on 92 octane(high test and SeaFoam-lol) My truck hasn't hinted that it still has issues. I'll enjoy it while it lasts and hope it was in fact the boots. Time will tell - usually does ( :

If I by chance find a pic of what's inside my OEM boots, I'll post it - way different than your pick - was your truck manufactured in 98 or 99? Mine says 07/98 - which is when they went to COPS I believe..

My truck was manufactured in 1999. If I remember correctly mine have a spring within a spring and some metal type thing that can move inside one of the springs.
