Need help, Engine hesitation

Need help.
I have a 2001 F150 4X4 4.6 V8, anyways the engine has major hesitation when driving between 1500-3000 RPM's it seem to happen over night? I have no idea what it could be. I was thinking the fuel filter is bad but what else could it be? The air filter is clean and I looked underneath and none of the fuel lines looked pinched? It idles fine, when stopped and I give it gas it doesn't hesitate at all?????
Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?
Thanks.

My first question would be how many Miles do you have on it.
You might want to think about giving it a tune up wires and plugs. I don't know your truck might have the coil on plug design. You may want to get the codes read if the CEL is on. Maybe you have a bad coil did it rain recentally where you are?

No rain but it was a very light hesitation yesterday, I just thought it was my driving ( manual tranny) but today its a really bad hesitation. It has 140,000 kms on it.
