Question Engine mfg. date

Hello all,
where do I look for the date of manufacture?
The 2003 model should have fixed the "sparkplug leaving the head" problem.
Any other surprises I may need to look at?
45,000 miles on it, and runs great!

I really don't think it's that big of a deal. Just be careful to thread and tighten them correctly when you change the plugs and you'll be fine.

On my 2005, there is a white sticker on the driver's side of the engine block just aft of the oil dipstick. This sticker will have the engine date of manufacture on it on the bottom center in the form MM-DD-YY (e.g. 04-08-05 for a manufacture date of 8 April 2005).

I have a digital photo of the sticker, so I'll try to post it in my gallery later. I'll edit this post to let you know when I've got it posted.

Edit: I added the photo of the engine manufacture date sticker to my gallery.

With more than 161,000 pounds of thrust available, there's really no need...

The date of engine manufacture is located on the driver's side cam cover (1 one the flat actual side and 2 with shipping codes, example 512 with date on either end of the drivers cam cover) That is on the 04 and newer 3 valve engines, all 2 valve have one on front cover, again driver side and one larger with serial # on the driver side of cam cover, flat side. Hope this was what you needed to know.

Maybe not, unless you have a really short strip and a heavy load. I didn't think that they were an "option" on the C-17.
