Bank 2 Sensor 2?
Bank 2 Sensor 2?
I got a code p0156 for O2 sensor on my 97 F-150 4.6L. It says bank 2 sensor 2 on the code reader. Am i right that it is the passenger side (i only have single exhaust), and the sensor BEHIND the cat?
Thanks.
Thanks.
I think that's right. I don't know how many miles you have but, here's a suggestion. You might consider changing both front O2 sensors now, and replace the bad O2 sensor with one of the used ones that you took off the front. Then, if you have another O2 sensor go out, you already have 1 spare.
Just remember, the back O2 sensors only monitor catalytic system efficiency, so they don't contribute to A/F ratios in the engine.

There is no indication in your report that the front sensors need changed. Further, the front and rear sensors are not interchangeable due to different connectors. If you wanted to cut and splice wires, then yes, they can be interchanged. However, it's not a very good idea to put a lazy or wornout sensor in the downstream position anyway.
Check for any exhaust leaks upstream from the rear sensor. Check the wiring for the sensor for corrosion, contamination, damage, secure connection, etc.
Do you have any other codes from the KOER test?
If none, then HO2S22 is probably at its end of life.
Steve
