Electrical Problem Or Fuse ? 2001 F-150
Never Had Aproblem With It Till Now I Went To Store Came Out Try To Start It But Nothing, will Not Jump, Radio, Lights All Work But Nothing But A Click From Fusebox When I Try To Start Dome Light Will Blink Like A Blinker And Gauges Go Haywire With Ignition Turned Forward
Well my truck kinda did the same thing, but it happened on my driveway (lucky me). Well, what I did was I followed the advice of everyone on this board and checked my battery and it's connections, the starter solenoid, the ignition, and the starter motor. I have two f150's a '99 4x4 with the 5.4l and an '03 Lightning, so I removed the starter solenoid from the lightning (since it was the truck that would start) and put it in my '99 and it started right up. I guess you could say hooray for me that it worked, but two days later it stopped working again. So, I went back with a screw driver and crossed the bottom post and the little post and it clicked (solenoid is fine then), so then I crossed the two big posts on the solenoid to see if the starter would spin. Nothing happened, so I went under the truck to check the battery connections on the starter motor and they were all fine. I then decided to just replace the starter and now my truck runs great. It was a pain in the you know what since I had to change it outside in 20 degree weather, but I got it done and my truck starts again.
My recommendation is to get a screw driver and start crossing the posts on the solenoid, which is on the top part of the firewall on the passenger side. Go ahead and cross the two big posts first and if nothing happens check the wires going to the starter motor under the truck to see if they are ok, and if they are you probably need to just replace your starter like I did. Now if the starter does turn when you cross the two big posts then you probably just need to replace the solenoid, which is a much easier fix. Let me know if I can help you out more.

i took the battery out had 2 take one out of wifes car; the clickin sound stopped when i hooked up the new one so i said hey why not try 2 start it since clickin stopped bingo started right up,battery showed it had a charge but had a bad cell screwing with the comp.funny one bad cell on battery causing all this, the same battery started the old car but not one with a comp. in it guess always replace battery on these new comp. cars & trucks before u throw away ur money
